Domaine Moissenet-Bonnard - Bourgogne

An affordable way to introduce the student of wine to the great Côtes de Beaune village of Pommard is with Jean-Louis Moissenet-Bonnard’s Bourgogne Rouge and Oncle Paul bottling named after his great Uncle. This is Pommard in a nutshell: generously rich, masculine in structure, with brawny tannins and notes of forest floor and pinesap mingling with the darkly carameled black currant fruit. Jean-Louis bottles his wines unfiltered and they will gain further complexity with age, but are generous now. His vineyards are some of the finest in the appellation and his wines are highly and consistently praised in the French press.
